This work won Unesco's Composer Rostrum in Paris in 1982. It is based on incidental music that Lindberg wrote for Mikhail Bulgagov's play Molière and the music contains originally embedded references to the music of Rameau and Lully. The music is enhanced with text spoken by the instrumentalists in the middle of the work.
