Inspired by the composer's travels in Russia, this original two-movement work is in the style of the Russian folk song. The first movement is a mournfully beautiful lyric work written in a lush, contemporary setting. The second movement brings to life the spirit of the peasants as the dance in village festivities to celebrate the end of harvest. This would make a great multicultural addition to your next concert.
