This combination pairs a text by one of our greatest hymn writers, Isaac Watts (who was a contemporary of Bach and Handel) with a spirited tune from William Walker's Southern Harmony, an 1835 shaped-note tune book which included many hymns which have since become part of our hymnological canon, including “What Wondrous Love is This” (WONDROUS LOVE) and “Brethren, We Have Met to Worship” (HOLY MANNA).
