Format : Sheet music

Tibetan Dance was composed in October 200 for the Verdehr Trio of the Michigan State University. Scored for Clarinet Violin and Piano it calls upon the musicians to also use their instruments as percussion with the violinist sometimes tapping the soundboard to create a drum-like rhythm. Written as three movements: Prelude Song Dance it weaves together themes from China Japan and the composer’s native Tibet creatinga mesmerising cross-cultural counterpoint. Bright Sheng is a contemporary Chinese composer who settled and studied in America following the Cultural Revolution. He is known for writing traditional Chinese tunesand folk songs in a western style.
