Clifford Benson died in 2007 sadly before publication of this work. His compositions are very accessible. They are sparkling and fresh full of melodic and rhythmic invention contrasting textures and harmonic humour all intermixed with warmth love and emotion - and all of this sums up the man himself. - [William Bennett OBE Hon RAM].The composer's wife Mrs Dilys Benson and the publisher have dedicated this edition of Tango Variations to the memory of Clifford Benson. He will be sadly missed by many who knew him.
