Telemann's Flute compositions were intended to have a universal appeal - they were more palatable for the less dexterous players while remaining attractive to virtuosi. He avoided difficult technical passages in favour ofsound and modulation at the same time embracing multiple styles and forms. The simple construction of his works was very effective because whilst they were relatively easy to master they were also highly satisfying to perform. This collection of Twelve Fantasias is arranged for unaccompanied solo Flute. A recording of each piece is provided on the accompanying CD.
