Adapted For 2 Solo Saxophones By Jean-Marie Londeix-French baroque composer and violinist Jean-Marie Leclair (1697-1764) is considered to have founded the French Violin school. His expertise led him to compose significant works for the instrument. His sublime Sonata in C is superbly arranged for Alto Saxophone by contemporary French saxophonist Jean-Marie Londeix. Leclair's Sonata in C for Violin is one of his most prolific and best remembered works. Londeix's arrangement for Saxophone of Leclair's Sonata in C includes adaptions for the instrument such as dynamics phrase marks performance and tempodirections articulation and breath marks. Londeix's rearrangement for the Saxophone of Leclair's popular Sonata in C is exquisite making the baroque genre accessible to the Saxophone a relatively modern instrument.
