Score and Parts-The nickname derives from the story that Mozart wrote this work while partaking in a game of skittles. 'Kegelstatt' = Skittle Alley. The Clarinet part can be replaced by a Violin. The score is dated August 5 1786 and the work is extremely dense and cerebral and many believe it to be hardly the outcome of any frivolous diversion.
