Freidrich (Fritz) Seitz (1848-1918) was a German composer and violinist. He wrote over fifty works mostly for educational purposes many of which are still in popular use today. His Student Concerto No. 5 (Schüler-Concert Nr. 5; Op. 22) was written for Violin and Piano in three movements. It became famous when it was included in Suzuki s eponymous Violin method creating generations of fans that have enjoyed playing it.Seitz terrific post-romantic concerti are full of practical instructional usage and melodic joy to encourage and inspire younger players students or pianists who enjoy the late Romantic repertoire.
