Some of the exercises have an obvious reference to standard orchestral excerpts on which to apply the same concepts - some excerpts are given briefly as examples. The exercises are designed to promote(and maintain) richness of sound flexibility accuracy stamina creativity musicality intonation consistency and general awareness.
