Arioso was written to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Royal Academy of Music. The piece lasts approximately 7 minutes and is dedicated to David Zucchi. Inspired by the title's meaning "like an aria", the music alternates between lyrical and quasi-recitativo sections.
