This joyful setting of three verses of Psalm 108 is set to a swinging melody in 6/8 time. This is first sung in unison then in four parts in a homophonic texture. Each succeeding verse develops the rhythmic and melodic material and the anthem concludes in energetic style. The vocal parts are moderate in range and the homophonic style makes the text clear to the listener. This anthem would be appropriate for choirs of modest ability as a gratifying piece to sing and make a fine impression to the listener.
