Dr. Owen's adaptation of Psalm 72 alternates between a direct prayer to God of Come, O come down and various verses of the psalm. The address always appears in a gentle, rocking rhythmic motion while the verse settings change in accordance with the text. A combination of rich vocal timbres and a moderately slow tempo is used to give a sense of meditation to this Advent anthem.
