Crossroads is an attractive concert work of four interconnected movements, written for the 23rd music festival of the Bernese Cantonal Music Association in Aarwangen, Switzerland. The work has the river Aare to thank for the title ofCrossroads — it was an important trading hub, especially until the age of road building in the 18th century. The lively introduction is followed by a beautiful waltz and a romantic middle section. In the robust finale the orchestra can reallyroll its sleeves up!
Crossroads is een aantrekkelijk concertwerk in vier aaneengeschakelde delen, dat is geschreven voor het 23e muziekfestival van de BKMV in Zwitserland. De titel (‘kruispunt’) heeft het stuk te danken aan de rivier de Aare, die totin het tijdperk van de wegenaanleg in de 18e eeuw een belangrijk handelsknooppunt bood. De levendige inleiding wordt gevolgd door een fraaie wals en een romantisch middendeel. Daarna wordt het werk afgesloten met een stevige finale waarin het orkestflink kan uitpakken.

Den Titel Crossroads (Kreuzung) hat dasWerk dem Fluss Aare zu verdanken, der bis in das 18. Jahrhundert hinein ein besonders wichtiger Handelsknotenpunkt war. Der lebendigen Einleitung folgt ein schöner Walzer und ein romantischer Mittelteil. Im soliden Finale kann das Orchester sorichtig aufdrehen!
Crossroads est une oeuvre de concert captivante écrite pour le 23e festival de musique du Bernischen Kantonal-Musikverbands de Aarwagen, en Suisse. Le titre évoque le croisement de la rivière Aar, un affluent de la rive gauche du Rhin, quiétait, au XVIIIe siècle, un important noeud commercial et industriel. Une belle valse et une partie centrale romantique mènent une conclusion solide, où l’orchestre peut briller toutes résonnances dehors.
Crossroads è un interessante brano da concerto in quattro movimenti che confluiscono l’uno nell’altro, scritto per la 23a edizione della Musikfest del Bernischer Kantonal-Musikverband di Aarwangen, in Svizzera. Il titolo Crossroads(incrocio) dell’opera è dovuto al fiume Aare, importante nodo commerciale sin dai tempi della costruzione di strade nel XIX secolo. Dopo una vivace introduzione, seguono un bel valzer e una romantica parte centrale. La parte finale è tutta nel segnodell’intero organico che può mettersi in mostra!
