Beatrice Miller wrote this solo in loving memory of her husband, Don. This moving musical tribute is written in D minor and features a lyrical melody supported by a rich harmonic structure. It should be played very expressively with attention to bringing out the melodic line. The left-hand accompaniment grows increasingly complex, making the return of the opening melody on the second page very heartfelt and dramatic.
