This B-flat major solo is written in a lyrical, romantic style. Hartsell is a master at using patterns and sequences that help students learn the piece quickly. The left hand provides an excellent study in intervals and broken chords. Both hands must move freely over the keyboard, and a legato pedal is a must for creating a smooth and lyrical sound.
