Written for the senior recital of one of his students at the Eastman School Of Music, this rudimental snare drum trio focuses on the interactions between players as they negotiate a series of dramatic tutti and imitative passages leading to a powerful flourish. The title comes from the fact that it was premiered by performers from three generations: student Matt Written, his father and former student Dean Written, and their teacher John Beck. |
