On the piano, the left hand is required to exercise a dual function, being called upon to assume the effect of a rhythm guitar and bass! Thus, in frequent instances, the main difficulty does not lie in the right hand alone, but rather in the skillful combination of both hands to produce proper rhythmic coordination.
