This concerto is in the first place intended for the beginning flute player who is already somewhat familiar with the elementary qualities of a soloist. The first part is written in the tradition of the well-known 'airs' by Ted Huggens. A very expressive choral tune dialogues with the complete band. The merry second part 'Rondo' is more...harmonically and melodically based on classical principles. From time to time the composer drops these principles to give way to themes that are related to entertainment music.
