When Bill Holman writes a feature for a player, especially in the Kenton Band, you know it will be wonderful. He wrote this one to feature the amazing trombonist Carl Fontana. Sierra Music dedicates the publication of this chart to Carl and his stunning jazz career. Carl is a terrific melody, scored in the inimitable, swinging way of Holman. The demands on the brass sections are not too bad, so the piece is very playable. 5-5-5-3 (can be played with 8 brass). |
