Movement VI (of 7) of the Cuban Fire Suite. From Richards' magnificent suite written in 1956. Fire is probably the best way to describe this piece. A fantastic, dramatic opening (used for years by marching band and drum corps) leads to a rollicking, latin feel. Solos are on the alto sax and trumpet parts. The original score of Richards' was the source for this and all the movements of this suite. Probably the best known and well-liked movement of the whole suite. Recorded on the "Cuban Fire" CD. Parts for 5 auxiliary latin players included.,. |
