Anatoli Liadov (1855-1914) studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory with Rimsky-Korsakov, among others. Later as a teacher, his pupils included important composers such as Sergei Prokofiev. Through his brilliant orchestration and daring harmonies he further developed aspects previously explored by Borodin and Rimsky-Korsakov. The charming Dance of the Amazon, based on two Greek folk melodies, was one of Liadov's last creations. Dur: 3:25
