James Markey, Bass Trombonist of the New York Philharmonic has brilliantly arranged the iconic American Folk Song "Turkey in the Straw" for Bass Trombone and Piano in a setting of Theme and three Variations, following the tradition of Arthur Pryor and others of that era.
Mr. Markey's writing for the Trombone and Piano accompaniment is fun and challenging. Audiences will love this old song brought to life again on the Bass Trombone
The "Variations" are on Mr. Markey's newly released album "on base" available on CD from Cherry Classics Music.
