Composed specifically for the developing middle school and high school percussion ensemble, Alarm! presents healthy challenges in the areas of dynamics, playing drags or ruffs consistently and in time, and passing rhythmic melodies from player to player throughout the ensemble.The piece also presents a visual element to the setup and orchestrations to add a dose of fun and further engage the audience! This work was commissioned by Mr. Josh Torres, Assistant Band Director and Percussion Director at Center Grove High School (Greenwood, IN) for the 2010 Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. This piece comes with a full, bound score and includes a CD-Rom containing an audio recording and all individual parts available for printing. |
