A flowing, original melody is used in the beginning of this stirring carol setting. The well-known carol melody incorporating the tune GLORIA makes an appearance as a descant later in the composition. The orchestral parts are particularly effective. The piece may also be done with harp accompaniment alone. Parts include: Two Flutes, Oboe, Two Clarinets in B-flat, Two Horns in F, Timpani, Glockenspiel, Triangle, Suspended Cymbal, Harp, Two Violins, Viola, Cello, and Double Bass.
