Using the six stanzas of an exuberant, colorful Easter text by Christopher Smart, the center of the anthem features stanzas 2-5 incorporated with the original English-inspired tune HANNAFORD HALL. The victorious stanzas 1 and 6 energetically distinguish the anthem's beginning and end. While originally written for SATB choir and organ alone, Brass Quartet parts (2 2)-which primarily double and highlight selected organ figuration are available as a performance option.
