Item Number: EC.4234
The Introit, an urgent fortissimo fanfare, is followed by a cycle of five Versicles and Responses. This work reflects the alternatim practice employed by baroque era composers in which the odd numbered lines of the Mass or Magnificat are sung (in this work played on an unenclosed division with gentle speech or on a chamber organ) and the even numbered lines are played on the organ (full-sounding and colorful divisions). |
