Composer Brian Holmes hit a home run when he wrote "Roger Bobo Plays the Tuba" (15/1736R) for treble voices and tuba. Following in those footsteps, Brian has created an equally stylish and humorous piece for treble choir with baritone saxophone. There are sections of chromatic harmony, along with shifts in tempo and meter that make this piece moderately difficult. There is a real toad swagger to be discovered in this clever and worthy piece. The bari sax part is included with the octavo, and, if a saxophone player is not available, an optional bassoon part is available as a free downloadable file at the publisher's website. |
