Written as a commission for his own choir, "To You Who Bow" is a simple song of praise to God who humbled himself for our sake. The emotional text of this tender hymn depicts a loving image of our God "who dreamed the boundaries of Orion, but will not break the reed" - at once powerful but also gentle, loving, and merciful. The fluid rhythmic motion and graceful melody creates a natural rise and fall that builds the piece effortlessly to its moving final verse. The SAB choral writing along with parts for flute, trumpet, and cello add richness but do not detract from the poignant text. "To You Who Bow" is sure to become a congregation favorite.
