The three selected art songs by Dorff use Japanese texts by family and the composer himself and have been premiered in settings from prestigious Suntory Hall in Tokyo to a dock floating on the banks of the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. The poems all are inspired by love - of family (Kokoro o komete), of flying (Tobetara), and of snow (Yuki no uta). |
