"Take The Ribbons" was commissioned by the Northern California Band Association for the 2011 All-Northern High School Honor Band. The composition was inspired by the story of Delia Haskett Rawson (1861-1949) who was the first woman stagecoach driver for the famous Wells Fargo stage line. The fast and unrelenting music takes the listener on a wild and driving stage coach run, with the threat from any number of dangers in close pursuit or around the next bend.
