Bloch's Prayer composed in 1925 is sub-titled "From Jewish Life" and is originally written for Cello and Piano. Its Hebraic sounds are beautiful with its rich, mysterious and melodious sound. The work is about six minutes in length recommended for advanced performers and sets a deeply religious mood; reflective, pleading and expressive. Playable by most college students it is a perfect addition to a recital, jury or concert. |
