A "fracas" is a brawl, rumpus, fisticuffs, clash or similar term connoting a serious disturbance. Composer Kevin Mixon has worked to evoke this type of conflict in musical form. "Fracas" is aggressive and angular at times with sudden changes in the dynamics to create additional excitement. Disorientation and confusion are further enhanced with some interesting whole intervals and chromatic harmonic changes. This piece is in-your-face from the start.
