The Irish folk melody SALLEY GARDENS turns out to be a perfect match for this well-known text. A mood of calm assurance is achieved with this SATB setting and a flowing and supportive keyboard accompaniment. The choral writing is approachable but very lyrical, and there is the option for the congregation to sing on the final verse, with choir descant.
