This is the tale of the small Upper Austrian village of Neukirchen/Lambach. For almost 1,000 years this beautiful community and its hardworking folk have been known as creative, ambitious and joyful. Even through the suffering in the Crusades at the end of the 11th century, the repeated occupation during the Napoleonic Wars and the turmoil of both World Wars, the inhabitants remained steadfast. The name of Neukirchen (Newchurch) comes from the building of a new parish church in 1342 at its present location and is one of the landmarks of the parish. Then as now, the inhabitants know how to work hard, celebrate well, relax through music making, and live well. Duration: 11:45
(Note: For a shorter performance option, the dynamic Newchurch Fanfare theme can be performed alone.).
