Beginning simply with soprano 1 in unison ("May the road rise to meet you"), this setting builds to a full four part contrapuntal Amen which is gorgeous. Then the text repeats, homophonically in four parts, with a simpler Amen. The imagery of the wind, the sun, and the rain makes this text a familiar and beloved one. |
