Alexander Kastalsky (1856 -1926) was the leading composer of the New Russian Choral School which produced a tremendous flowering of choral music around the turn of the 20th century. This work, written in memory of the composer's sister, is featured on the 2018 Grammynominated CD Kastalsky--Memory Eternal, by the Clarion Choir (Steven Fox, cond.). |
