When Margarita and Donald Montanaro, both of the Philadelphia Orchestra, invited Ranjbaran to write a new work, they told him about their wonderful visit to Isfahan in the 1970s, and the composer knew the time had come to compose ISFAHAN, inspired by his visits to the historical city.
