Satie wrote Trois Mélodies, a lighthearted cycle of three songs, for the mezzo-soprano Jane Bathori, a star of the Parisian opera world. They were first performed by Bathori and pianist Ricardo Viñes at the "Ravel-Satie Festival" in Paris on April 18, 1916. Song titles: 1. La statue de bronze, 2. Dapheneo, 3. Le chapelier.
