It was composed for the highly regarded Addison Singers, in memory of their long-standing member Cathy Bereznicki. Kindness is framed by two lullabies: the Mexican Arrorró mi niño and the well-known Coventry Carol, underpinned by the universal themes of unconditional love and the hope that kindness brings. The contemporary, reflective and uplifting style of the music makes this a versatile work: whilst ideal for Christmas concerts, it is equally suitable for performance at any time of the year.
