The noodlin' part of Noodlin' are the light Basie-like piano fills inserted among the equally Basie-like ensemble figures. Contrast between ensemble & piano is key to the suuccess of Noodlin'. A great opportunity to work attention to articulations and dynamics within the tightly constructed punch ensemble figures against the quieter and lighter piano fills. Very cool!
