Brass Ensemble Baritone Horn TC,Cornet,E-Flat Tuba TC,Euphonium,Flugelhorn,Trombone,Trumpet - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1118778

Composed by Carl Teike. Arranged by Chris Gorman. Jazz. Score and parts. 40 pages. Chris Gorman #720214. Published by Chris Gorman (A0.1118778).

Carl Albert Hermann Teike (5 February 1864 – 28 May 1922) was a German composer who wrote over 100 military marches and twenty concert works. Teike began writing military marches, including one in 1889 that would eventually be named Alte Kameraden (Old Comrades). Upon his bandmaster's disapproval of that composition, Teike resigned from the army. A publisher purchased the song from him for twenty German Goldmark. Alte Kameraden later became one of the most popular marches in the world. This arrangement is for a Brass 8 piece.

Brass Quintet Euphonium,Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1308505

Composed by John Philip Sousa. Arranged by Matthew Nunes. Chamber,Classical,Historic,March,Patriotic. 28 pages. Matthew Nunes Music #897744. Published by Matthew Nunes Music (A0.1308505).

A rare revisit to Sousa’s medley march days, this march features Stephen Foster’s Come Where My Love Lies Dreaming and Ethelbert Nevin’s Narcissus. This unpublished march could have been called “Homage to Nevin and Foster”, “Homage to Pittsburgh”, or “The Belle of Pittsburgh”.

It is one of Sousa’s more unusual works, but highly inventive. His combination of themes is well executed and builds throughout to a triumphant conclusion. A quite difficult one to arrange!

This Brass Quintet arrangement was made using “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band’s The Complete Marches of John Philip Sousa score as found at https://www.marineband.marines.mil/Audio-Resources/The-Complete-Marches-of-John-Philip-Sousa/. The Pride of Pittsburgh was composed in 1901, and the referenced edition was made Public Domain in 2018. The piece is catalogued as Volume 4, No. 60.
