Melody: Sequences - Perform, Compose, Understand Series. This pack comprises a piece called Thanks, Ludwig, worksheets and questions which relate to the piece. It is all about understanding melodic sequences.Welcome to the PCU Series for classroom-based groups. This series focuses on learning by doing; there are many accomplished performers within our school classrooms throughout the world, but my years of experience has taught me that many of these students learn to play by rote – literally be learning one note followed by another – without gaining full understanding of how the pieces work musically and theoretically. Indeed, some of them can perform to a high standard using this method, but then really struggle with composition and general musical understanding later in their educational careers.I equate this to learning to speak sentences in a foreign language without fully understanding what those sentences actually mean.So who is this book for?It is for music teachers to use with their students who are learning to create exam-level compositions within a school environment. It is ideal for courses such as the American High School Diploma, GCSE, IGCSE, SCS, HKCEE, IB(MYP), SPM, GCEO, CCEF, HKCEE, VSSD, GES or ICSE.It is designed to cater for almost any instrument due to the parts being provided in many different keys and clefs (including tab and bass tab). Drum parts are intentionally not provided as drummers still need to have a good understanding of non-percussive elements such as melody and harmony; I would suggest that they play a keyboard part for the purposes of learning about composition. You can also download backing tracks of all pieces in this series by searching:Classroom Performance educational pack: MELODY backing tracksThese contain parts 2-5, allowing part 1 to be played live over the top.  How to use this resourceThis pack comprises three stages, the third of which should be gained from success with the first two:1. PerformingAn original performance piece is provided for mixed classroom ensemble. This piece features a musical device of some kind as its focus. There will obviously be other musical components included within the piece as well, but the main element will be very apparent.2. ComposingWorksheets are provided to enable students to develop their own compositions based on the same focus as the performance piece. Elements of the performance piece are highlighted and short, developmental activities will lead to the students developing their own musical ideas.3. Understanding          Summary worksheets are provided to enable students to demonstrate their understanding of the topic. There are two musical elements which appear in all pieces within this PCU series. They are dynamics and articulation. All performance pieces contain them and opportunity is provided to include them within the composing exercises as well.Printing and CopyingThe purchaser may print or copy all pages of this resource as required, but must not distribute to others. Full Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1152147 By Fabio Henrique Teles Martins. By Franz Joseph Haydn. Arranged by Fabio Henrique Teles Martins. Classical. Score and Parts. 104 pages. Fabio Dentello #752360. Published by Fabio Dentello (A0.1152147). Being one of his most elegant piano sonatas, the sonata in E minor (Hob. XVI: 34) can give us various feelings during its movements. It has a beautiful Adagio and a slight Molto Vivace as a Finale in Rondo form. This piece as said was thought of as a solo Piano Sonata, but the moment I heard it for the first time (on 12/18/2022, and yes, it was precisely on that day, because, I made the decision to start orchestrating it on the next day, the 19th) the idea of orchestrating it came to me because at least for me, it could sound like a beautiful symphony, even if it is very brief. I was extremely satisfied with the results, unfortunately with certain limitations of the VST I use (BBCSO pro) certain excerpts sound a little unrealistic, however, I have great esteem with the result. This orchestration/arrangement can be compared almost faithfully with the original, of course with several additions of voices and certain modifications to adapt it to the context of the orchestra, I tried to be as faithful as possible with Haydn's orchestral language, I am a great admirer of his vast work, and as I am also a classical/romantic composer, I learned a lot from him. I hope you enjoy this work as much as I enjoyed composing it!!

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.750863 Composed by Brendan Elliget MAGA 537. Contemporary. Score and parts. 123 pages. BJE Music #4319867. Published by BJE Music (A0.750863). Shades of Eltham (Eltham Concert Band - 35 Years of Music) - Concert Band VersionDedicated to Ern and Beattie Shade for their contribution to the Eltham Concert Band. The title of this piece is a play on words, of course, indicating both the Shades themselves and the various shades or moods of the music or even perhaps, the shady bushland setting of the area itself. I composed this piece with a few simple ideas in mind. The letters E and A in the word Eltham suggested to me an interval of a fourth, or the other way around, an interval of a fifth – which are both used in many of entries of the themes and musical motifs throughout the work – especially the brass. There are several variations and counter melodies within the work: a bright two-four march-like theme, probably the Main theme, and a variation of this theme in slower three-four time in a minor key with two counter melodies - representing a gentler contrasting mood. On occasions, two or even three themes play simultaneously. A bridging passage in four-four occurs about the two thirds into the composition leading up to a restatement of the main theme. The final climax or Coda actually has both three four melody against the two-four one resolving in the last few bars in a dramatic way.I hope you enjoy my musical tribute to the Shades. The MP3 was recorded with NotePerformer. Now available as an orchestral arrangement as well. See Related Scores.

Violin and piano - intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q46209 25 Pieces. This edition: Sheet music. Schott Violin Classics. Downloadable. Schott Music - Digital #Q46209. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q46209). Musical miniatures are among the typical forms of the 19th century. In contrast to monumental creations for the opera stage and concert hall, these small-scale compositions proceeded from the idyll of bourgeois salons. In this volume some pieces of that genre have been compiled for violin and piano, their purpose and meaning being the pleasure in music-making. Of medium difficulty, the pieces are suitable for music lessons, pupils' performances and 'Jugend musiziert' competitions, but of course also, as was their original purpose, for musical entertainment at home.

Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1158195 Composed by Dr. Daniel N. Thrower. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Film/TV,Instructional. 41 pages. Https://gildedmusicpress.com/ #758471. Published by https://gildedmusicpress.com/ (A0.1158195). A hypercube is a theoretical cuboid-like fourth-dimensional object. In an attempt to explain spatial dimentions, I created an 18-minute video presentation titled “Dimensions Unfurled” exposing some initial fallacies of common thought, which can be seen on YouTube. All of the music for the above-mentioned video is original. There are two trumpet duets in the section that depicts a hypercube net folding into a hypercube model, starting at 13’20” and 14’51, respectively. Both duets are published in a collection titled “Fifteen-Course Dinner for Two” (available through Gilded Music Press). The two duets share thematic material, and are combined and greatly expanded for this present major six-minute work for brass quintet, “Building a Hypercube”. The first short duet, “Drawing a Hypercube Net”, is presented as the quintet’s introduction, quite faithfully to the original, shared through five parts with harmonic expansion. The material from the second duet is essentially unadulterated starting at measure 27, spanning through measure 70 (up to letter D). From there, the development of thematic material is extensive and interesting, morphing into Escher-types of additional themes and melodies, many of which overlap and intertwine in a fascinatingly complex manner. This unsettling compositional style is indicative of years of profound pondering to fathom the mysterious matter of the fourth spatial dimension. Musically the piece is motivically and thematically unified. All the parts share in the rhythmic complexity fitting for the ponderous topic. The form is roughly sonata form with an introduction and coda, though the recapitulation (Del Segno) occurs in its original key. The majority of the piece (about three minutes, almost exactly half) is the symbolically explorative development section, from D to O. A point of interest: in spite of the piece’s high harmonic rhythm, the introduction is diatonically modal (G Mixolydian). The exposition, after a brief building transition, shifts to the relative D Dorian mode. The lengthy development section shifts tonal centers throughout, visiting various major and minor keys. Beginning at letter O, modality returns for a smooth transition into the recapitulation. The piece ends with an exhilarating coda.

Concert Band - Digital Download SKU: A0.1023851 Composed by John Philip Sousa. Arranged by Kevin R. Tam. 20th Century. Score and parts. 42 pages. Kevin R. Tam #1920507. Published by Kevin R. Tam (A0.1023851). In 1926, Sousa composed his humoresque A Mingling of the Wets and the Drys, a fantasy on Prohibition wherein takes place a musical conversation between a drinker and a non-drinker. In the course of discussion, they sit down for Tea for Two and we hear familiar tunes such as the Irving Berlin song The Near Future (How Dry I Am) and the Old Oaken Barrel. In the end, the musical debaters agree to disagree and finish with a round of Auld Lang Syne. To his credit Sousa declines to takes sides in this disagreement himself.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1323881 By Michael Buble. By Haven Gillespie and John Frederick Coots. Arranged by Thomas Gunther. Blues,Christmas,Jazz. Score. 5 pages. Thomas Gunther Music Productions #912057. Published by Thomas Gunther Music Productions (A0.1323881). Solo Piano Arrangement By Thomas GuntherSanta Claus Is Coming To Town is another one of my favorite Christmas songs. For some reason I love playing it in a bluesy style, with some jazz voicings. The bridge is more in stride piano style.About The ArrangementThe arrangement includes different stylistic elements found in more traditional popular piano music. It definitely has a bluesy vibe, but also shows elements of jazz and stride piano. When it comes to the form I extended it by adding an intro that comes back in-between sections in form of an interlude. There is also an outro. About The Sheet MusicThe sheet music is basically a transcription of my recording. It contains jazz chord symbols and plentiful of articulations as well as some dynamic markings. My Arranging WorkflowI have different approaches for creating solo piano arrangements of songs. The one I took here is as follows. First I come up with different ideas, try them out, and after a while settle on those I like best. Once I practiced and internalized those ideas I press record and hope for the best. Before the final version is done, I record myself many times over. This gives me the opportunity to improve upon each version until I have one that I feel comfortable with.Recommendations For Learning The SongI recommend that you first listen to my performance while reading along in the sheet music. This way you get a better understanding about the phrasing and the rhythmic feel. You may want to spend a little time just vamping a few bars to get into the groove. When that feels good move on to different sections. The bridge is different in feel because it is based on stride piano rather than blues. Stride piano features big jumps in the left hand and big intervals between the outer notes (up to a 10th). Should you have difficulty in playing those big intervals (smaller hands will make this hard) you may roll the notes and use the sustain pedal. Is This Arrangement For You?This solo piano arrangement is for every pianist who would like to try playing Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town in a more bluesy-jazzy style. Dependent on what your specialty is musically speaking, you made benefit from it in different ways. Here are some examples.Classical PianistsIf you are a classical pianist who rarely listens to jazz and blues music, this arrangement might be a great way to dip your feed into more contemporary genres and styles like blues and jazz. This said, it might be quite challenging. Not from a technical point of view, but from a musical point of view. For example, swung eighth notes and accents and phrasing in blues and jazz are somewhat contrary to classical music. It's gonna be a great learning experience for sure!Jazz PianistsShould you be a jazz musician or blues musician, you may not necessarily want to play the arrangement as written note for note. Instead, you might just fall in love with some of my ideas and create your own arrangement based on those. This goes especially for the solo section. You can play my solo or use it as inspiration for your own solo. Of course experiences blues and jazz musicians will prefer to make up their own solo.I truly hope you have fun playing this arrangement! Yes.

Violin and piano - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q41080 Composed by Hans Sitt. This edition: Sheet music. Downloadable. Op. 13/1. Schott Music - Digital #Q41080. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q41080). Any violinist who hears the name Sitt nowadays will probably just think of the author of studies and exercises that have long been a familiar feature in instrumental lessons. Of course the Prague violinist, music teacher and composer Hans Sitt (1850–1922) made a significant impact on methods of violin teaching, but he also wrote a whole series of other works worth listening to: concertos for violin, viola and cello and chamber music for various combinations of instruments. Sitt studied the violin in Prague and was then appointed first as leader of the orchestra and then as musical director in Breslau (now called Wrocław). After posts as director of music in Prague, Chemnitz – where he championed the work of Smetana – and Nice, he was eventually appointed professor of violin, orchestral playing and score reading at the Leipzig Conservatoire from 1884–1921. Besides this he also played viola in the Brodsky Quartet, organised concerts and was conductor of the Bach Society. The composers Franco Alfano - who completed Puccini’s unfinished opera Turandot– and Frederick Delius studied with Sitt, as did the conductor Václav Talich. Three Album Leaves op. 13 were also composed during his time in Leipzig, published by Bosworth & Co in 1894. Romanesca, No. 1 in that collection, is a pretty, slightly melancholy piece of music with romantic appeal that draws out lyrical and expressive playing and is thus eminently suitable for tuition purposes and concert performances.
