Instrumental Duet Alto Saxophone,Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.589312 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by David McKeown. Jewish,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 5 pages. David McKeown #6022231. Published by David McKeown (A0.589312). Silver Wedding, (Die Silberne Khasene in Yiddish), is a Jewish Folk tune, often performed by Klezmer musicians. This version is arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Alto Saxophone. Jewish Wedding bands, prominent in early twentieth century New York, were well placed to take advantage of the phonograph recording revolution. Accordingly, we are fortunate to have a rich record of the musical style of the time. Silver Wedding first appeared in a 1915 recording by Abe Elenkrig’s Orchestra. Elenkrig was born in Ukraine, which may point to the origins of the tune. Silver Wedding is in a Bulgar style, a happy piece designed to escort the newly-weds from the ceremony to the feast. Silver Wedding is simply arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. The melody is in three sections; overall the tune is played twice with a short introduction and coda and with constant variations in the accompaniment. Silver Wedding is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a performance time of around three minutes, this version of Silver Wedding is perfect for weddings, celebrations and concert performances, both formal and informal. Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1138616 By Louise du Toit. By Louise du Toit. Arranged by Louise du Toit. Contemporary. Score. 5 pages. Louise du Toit #738964. Published by Louise du Toit (A0.1138616). Inyoka the Snake is the eleventh in a series of fifteen original contemporary compositions for piano, titled 15 Animal Compositions for Piano and created to musically describe the movement and habits of specific wildlife creatures. From music notes to words: Inyoka the snake lurks behind a heap of stones in the dry Kalahari Desert. It is a few moments before sunrise, and he is aware of a small ground squirrel running around in the distance. He starts to move forward slowly, but soon his beautiful, patterned body sways left and right with exquisite elasticity as it rapidly glides over the dunes through the patches of dry yellow grass towards his devastated victim. Frantically trying to escape, the squirrel disappears into a tiny hole in the sand and after a few efforts to reach his prey, Inyoka decides to let go of it, not willing to get stuck in a narrow tunnel for his breakfast. Enjoying the early sunrays on his body, he glides lazily towards a dry riverbed, soon drifting off into a deep sleep..
