David Musgrove #182959. Published by David Musgrove (A0.575304). Italian composer and organist Giovanni Gabrieli (1557-1612) was one of the most prominent musicians of the age. He sits at the cusp of the Baroque and the Renaissance, and is today best known for his sacred music, both choral and instrumental. Much of his music was written to ring out around the large space inside St Mark's Basilica in Venice. Familiar to many brass players, the current arrangements for trombone quartet are designed to spread the burden of high playing among the ensemble, even within a particular canzona, making them practical and attractive as concert openers and for other occasions. Item number: DM 2475 MP3 sound file is produced from Sibelius.
