This arrangement is loosely based on the version sung by Aretha Franklin, and starts with two hushed verses in 4/4, then modulates up a tone and into 9/8, for two more verses with a triplet-feel quaver accompaniment. The ending can be big, or quiet, as required. This is a great selection for groups developing in compound time, and suitable for approx ABRSM grade 5 (intermediate) level and above.
