Choral Choir (SA) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.761688 Composed by Debra E. Stempien and Gregory H. Turner. Children,Contemporary,Instructional,Standards. Octavo. 6 pages. Standard Time #6070293. Published by Standard Time (A0.761688). This setting of Robert Louis Stevenson's poem, The Wind, from A Child's Garden of Verses, is composed for two-part SA treble chorus with piano accompaniment. The extended tonal harmonies ask students to hear and resolve suspended and non-chord pitches within easily accessible thirds and sixths, while Part I can help develop range for the higher voices.  In terms of text, Stevenson’s poem provides mature lyrics for young musicians as well as an opportunity for cross-discipline literary learning.  A current and respected choral director who reviewed the piece referred to the piano accompaniment as fun to play and varied nicely.  In response to the piece as a whole, she also said, I do think the young choral world can use more challenging pieces..

Piano Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.844642 Composed by Phil Beaman. 20th Century,Classical,New Age. Score. 3 pages. Phil Beaman #4571315. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844642). Two people are playing a spirited games of marbles. The energetic music (Vivace) goes back and forth between the two players. Drama builds. Then an Andante Espressivo section as the victorious player pauses to admire the beauty of the striped marble he has just won. Then Round 2 in the dominant key and another striped marble in the bag. A Recapitulation and a Picardy Third conclude the game with satisfaction.  The notes and rhythms of this Piano Solo are quite easy. The interest comes from the contrasting sections; energy vs espressivo, vivace vs andante, detached vs slurred. Contains mostly 2-part writing. Both hands are usually in the Treble Clef, most of the time in close proximity, requiring some coordination. This piece is fun to play and very showy for concert.84 bars; 2 minutes; 3 page score
