Alto Saxophone,Keyboard Accompaniment - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1279197 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Regis Bookshar. Baroque,Chamber,Historic,Instructional,Wedding. 22 pages. Regis Bookshar #870687. Published by Regis Bookshar (A0.1279197). Canon (Bb) - Johann Pachelbel - Alto Saxophone Trio, Keyboard - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download.Johann Pachelbel's celebrated Canon is perhaps the most famous canon ever written. A canon is a polyphonic device in which several voices play the same music, entering in sequence. Pachelbel's Canon was originally scored for three violins aranged in canon, accompanied by a basso continuo playing an ostinato pattern, repeating the same harmonic progression throughout the entire composition.Regis Bookshar has now arranged this composition for an Alto Saxophone Trio, which play the melody in canon and a Keyboard instrument, either a Piano or Organ, which plays the ostinato pattern. This arrangement is suitable for high school and college students and is perfect for concerts, recitals and church services, especially for weddings, but could be performed for any occasion. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (22 pages).Pachelbel's Canon was originally written in the key of D Major but this version has been transposed to the key of Bb Major, making it a little easier for some younger performers. Another version, in the original key of D Major, is also available, if you would prefer. Also available are other versions of this well-known Canon for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to compare the different versions to find the version (or versions) which best suits your needs. Also, please feel free to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as there are numerous selections in a variety of styles also available for purchase. You may find something else which might interest you. Please continue to check back periodically because new arrangements are being added as often as possible. I'm certain that this wonderful arrangement of Johann Pachelbel's delightful Canon will continue to entertain both performers and audiences alike for years to come.

String Quartet String Quartet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1297245 Composed by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Contest,Early Music,Festival,Historic,Renaissance. 15 pages. Jmsgu3 #887319. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1297245). Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck was a Dutch organist and composer who lived from April 1562 to October 16, 1621. He was born and died in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Sweelinck's first published works date from around 1592-94, and he composed a variety of music, including chansons and keyboard music. He was known for his keyboard playing and was a teacher to German composers Samuel Scheidt and Heinrich Scheidemann. Sweelinck's Echo Fantasias are significant for several reasons:Innovative composition: Echo Fantasias were a unique form of composition during Sweelinck's time, blending elements of traditional fantasias with passages dedicated to echo effects. This experimental approach showcased Sweelinck's creativity and willingness to push the boundaries of musical expression. Emphasis on the moment: Unlike Sweelinck's larger fantasias, the construction of Echo Fantasias was less strict, focusing more on the immediate musical experience rather than the overall design. This emphasis on the moment allowed for greater freedom and spontaneity in the performance of these pieces. Stylistic range: Echo Fantasias encompassed a wide range of styles, juxtaposing fantasia-like elements with passages dedicated to echo effects. This stylistic diversity added depth and complexity to Sweelinck's compositions, making them engaging and intriguing for both performers and listeners.

Brass Quintet Horn,Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1461571 By Paul Simon. By Paul Simon. Arranged by Will Corbin. Latin,Pop. 22 pages. Will Corbin #1040315. Published by Will Corbin (A0.1461571). Here's a fun high-energy rendition of Paul Simon's 1980 hit. The original was rhythm-heavy with all kinds of drum activity; background horns fill in here, although you might want to bring along a couple of percussionist pals with a cowbell and other Afro-Latin-pop toys. The break strain was horns in the original. That part and the ending are tough; they require a very tight quintet. If you need alternative instrumentation, I'm happy to help.
