Excursion No. 4 is one of seven short character pieces that I composed during the second half of 2023. I wrote this series of compositions after being inspired by Chick Corea's Children's Songs. Chick called these children's songs, but they were far from it. Because they were all piano pieces, I started my Excursions as piano pieces, but with a short time I was arranging them for different instrumental combinations.
