Harrington, was a skilled organist, studied music, wrote many hymns, and was a Wesleyan University music teacher.  He came across the poetry of Josiah G. Holland and was inspired to write the melody, which he titled, a Christmas Carol.  Grace Joy Reid wrote this arrangement for Soprano, Marie Bowles, for the Christmas Eve Service at Spriggs Road Presbyterian Church, which Ms. Bowles sang quite lovely in December of 2021.  Published by Creating Music Joy LLC.  ASMAC is the performing rights organization.  This arrangement will be a perfect addition to your Christmas Eve Service.
